Hi Friends!
Happy New Year! I hope you guys had an awesome time with family and are enjoying a relaxing day today!
I know it might sound cliche, but I always love the New Years celebrations. I love what it stands for; starting new and fresh. That doesn't necessarily mean I set the stereotypical resolutions, but I think goal setting and self evaluation are crucial in life. Looking back at the year: what went well, what didn't, and what you want to work on as an individual whether thats in your personal or professional life.
I've always been a Type A, goal setting, and "in-control" type of person. This is probably one of my greatest strengths, but also a weakness. A weakness because I wait. Waiting to have total focus and "the time I need to finish." Waiting to deliver perfect, look perfect, professionally or personally. This applies to anything: cleaning my closet upstairs at home, organizing my stacks and stacks of photos, mapping out new ideas within our businesses, attacking projects, or scheduling a photo shoot/writing more blog posts, my quest for perfection and control, lol, holds me back.
Not being able to start and complete something all in one shot (which as all of us moms know, is virtually impossible) is something I really need to LET GO of. Plugging away at things piece by piece, minute by minute, and in little segments is OKAY. As they say, "Don't wait for the perfect moment, take the moment and make it perfect."
Of course I have other goals in the back of my mind (including some fitness based ones of course), but I know that this is something I really want to work on. Do you have anything that you want to improve upon for 2018?!
Happy New Year all!
xo
