7 of my Go-to fitness Items

I’ve grown to love Mondays and starting the week off with a killer workout! I feel it really sets the tone for the week and gets me going in the right direction.
Today I wanted to share 7 of my GO-TO fitness items to kickstart my fitness goals. These items are integral to my success in reaching my current fitness level so I thought I would pass them along to you guys.
1. Food Scale: Ok, I know this sounds a little scary but HEAR ME OUT. A food scale is critical to your success because in order to see progress, eyeballing your food size portions won’t get you where you need to be. Yes, the first few days it is a little cumbersome, but honestly you get used to It and you will be shocked at how much your “serving” size is. I use this scale for weighing most of my food.
2. Water Bottle: Hydration is critical! Making sure you are drinking enough water is so so important to your overall wellness, as well as performance and weight loss goals. I love a good Swell bottle (keeps your water cold!), and also this bottle that is connected to an app and reminds you to hydrate every hour!
3. Good Shoes: Good shoes are so so important no matter what exercise regiment you choose. Investing in good shoe will keep your body healthy and strong as you push the limits. Some of my favorites are below.
4. Sports Bra: Keep the girls supported! My current personal favorite is the Lululemon bra, but when I was nursing I loved these ones not only for their support (my chest was much bigger), but for ease of nursing. I cringe when I see girls running or working out and their chests moving too much!
5. My Fitness Pal: Like I said earlier, tracking your food is the key to reaching your weight loss goals. As challenging as it can be sometimes, it is worth doing. Tracking what you are putting into your body is a real eye opener and gives you more accountability. This app is amazing- easy to use and free. You can also upgrade to the Premium version which has a few added benefits (may be helpful- especially if you are counting macros)- I use the premium version and its worth every cent. Just download in the app store!
6. Bands: Probably the most under rated item that can be used anywhere. Resistance training helps you gain muscle & burn fat, and I love how many different exercises you can do with them and how portable they are! I bring them on vacation with me to help me stay on track if my hotel doesn’t have a gym. Here are some great ones here.
7. Fitness Tracker Watch: A good watch can keep you on track every day to make sure you’re hitting your goals. Heart rate, duration, and customized features on a watch make it all the more easy to reach your goals. I also love a good step counter on a watch as well- that way I ensure I’m staying active outside of my workout! My faves are the Apple Watch and the Polar Ignite 2!
