Morning everyone! Hope you all had a good weekend. Mine was super busy spent coaching both days so I'm excited to catch up this morning with some stuff around the house and spend some time with the boys.
I wanted to hop on really quick and share my absolute, 100% go- to breakfast. I literally have this every.single.day. I buy Quaker Quick One minute Oats ((cause who has time for slow cooking oats these days???!! ha)) We have a hot water jug which cuts down on time as well. This is a great investment for tea drinkers and if you have a baby too, rather than a bottle warmer. Obviously I didn't feed the bottle ever myself, but everyone else to feed our two boys would warm the water and just put the bottle in a pyrex measuring cup and warm the bottle that way. No need for a bottle warmer.
Anyway, back to the oats. Everyone knows that my absolute favorite thing in the world has to be Peanut Butter. During my quest to lose all of my baby weight after I had Max I cut out eating toast and all breads so I needed a new go-to breakfast. I didn't mind oats but I didn't want to have the sweetness of brown sugar. I randomly had an idea of putting a spoonful (sometimes more haha) of Peanut butter in my oats and I've never looked back. It is SO GOOD. I like to use the hot water and then put a little cold water in it because I hate when it gets too thick. Putting the PB in the oats also gets my healthy fats in the morning (these are so important for weight loss, believe it or not)! The oats keep you going all morning as a slow burning carb and without any sugars theres no drop in energy.
One of the weirdest pregnancy aversions I actually had was that I could not stand this meal throughout Seb's pregnancy. No idea what it was, but swapped out PB with blueberries and brown sugar. Just days after giving birth I was back at the PB/Oats combo!
I would say 5/7 days the boys also have oats for breakfast too with almond milk, blueberries, honey or sometimes raisins. We usually try to flavor it ourselves for them rather than the packets. I love this because they are starting with a healthy habit at such a young age. Kids are so impressionable and if they start at a young age, it becomes routine!
Hope you guys all have a great week and give this a try!!
